The Scarlett 18i20 from the British manufacturer Focusrite is the USB version of the popular and proven Saffire PRO 40 FireWire Interface. The USB 2.0 connection allows the 18i20 to connect to any computer, allows for seamless setups, extreme memory possibilities means that Audio interfaces do not have to share busses, promising maximum performance. The new interface works not only on PC and Mac, but also on iOS platforms thanks to driverless operation.
Focusrite microphone premaps are used in studios all around the globe and in the 18i20, 8 of them operate with minimal background noise and distortion as well as ensuring for an enormous dynamic range. Scarletts Preamps feature exceptionally large headroom, two inputs on the front of the device and the switchable 10 dB Pad for distortion free recording with very high input levels.
With its 18 Inputs and 20 Outputs, the Scarlett 18i20 offers enough connectivity and flexibility for practically any studio recording project. Six combo XLR/Jack inputs plus two additional combo sockets on the front with switchable -10dB Pad buttons, which can also be used to connect instruments. 10 analog Lin outputs in the rear, while both independent headphone outputs are practically placed right on the front for easy access. Digital In and Outputs with ADAT and S/P-DIF-Format, MIDI In and Out as well as a WordClock connection for synchronization.
