The 24Ao can be used as an audio interface, analog-to-digital converter, or as a standalone mixer. It combines 24 high-quality and balanced outputs with 3 ADAT optical outputs and offers a total of 72 channels (24 inputs and 48 outputs) in a single rack unit. The analog / digital converter offers an enormous dynamic range; the internal mixer offers professional mixing console functions; The USB 2.0 port is client class compatible and can also be connected to USB 3.0 and iOS devices. The analog inputs are provided as multi-channel D-sub connectors and Phoenix. The integrated DSP mixer provides functions for 48 channels, 12 stereo busses, 32-bit floating point processing, modulated analog EQ, compression and Vintage Classic Reverb.

The internal routing very flexible - so any output can be connected to any input or inputs are split to multiple outputs. The 24Ao can be used as a standalone mixer - and be controlled directly from an iPad, iPhone, tablet, smartphone and laptop. A second AVB MOTU interface (24Ai, 1248, 8M or 16A) can easily be connected via a network cable. Even more devices can be connected via the optional MOTU AVB switch.
