As lead guitarist of Alter Bridge and Creed, Mark Tremonti relies on classical PRS design with a powerful voice. In the 2017 version, his SE Custom Signature model comes in singlecut construction with a glued-in wide thin maple neck as a haptic basis for lead acrobatics, while the PRS SE Tremonti pickups created in collaboration between Mark and the PRS R&D team provide articulatively aggressive sounds of metal.
The aim of the new PRS SE Mark Tremonti 2017 is to authentically revive the sound of the Creed and Alter Bridge fingerboard magician without sacrificing tonal flexibility. The result is a balanced output with extended treble and low-end response at neck and bridge. The classic PRS designed tremolo in vintage style has been equipped with a trem up routing. This means that the underside of the tremolo is milled and can be used as a floating tremolo in both directions to give lead voices that certain amount of extra.
The SE Mark Tremonti Custom 2017 features the slim wide thin profile of the Maryland-based guitar manufacturer. The slimmest profile from PRS convinces with a quick and agile design for fast runs and licks, while the body design with cutaway allows easy layer play up to the highest positions of the 22-flush rosewood fingerboard. Classic Bird inlays made of abalone as a distinctive identification mark should not be missing of course!
