Two channels for versatile guitar sounds

The centerpiece of the Engl E606SE Ironball Special Edition is undoubtedly the signal path for the guitar signal, which is constructed in pure, analogue tube technology , guaranteeing an unadulterated sound experience with direct dynamics. The two channels of the preamp , which is equipped with four 12AX7 tubes , cover a wide sound spectrum. The switchable boost allows the glassy sound of the clean channel to be increased to a juicy crunch for classic blues licks. The lead channel , on the other hand, delivers creamy overdrive sounds with lively dynamics without boost, which can be increased to hot high-gain distortion for modern rock and metal. Both channels share the same 3-band EQ for adjusting the sound, and the lead channel also has a presence control to tame the highs in the power amp.

Integrated FX

For further sound shaping, the Engl E606SE Ironball Special Edition is equipped with an extensive effects section. Accordingly, a noise gate with adjustable threshold ensures that even with high gain settings, the amp stays perfectly quiet when you are not playing. The Ironball also features high-quality digital delay and reverb effects that can be added to the signal via separate level controls on the back of the amp. If desired, delay and reverb can be turned off completely. Furthermore the Engl Ironball Special Edition offers a serial FX loop for the integration of further effect devices.

EL84 power amplifier, power soak and speaker simulation

The power amplifier of the Engl E606SE Ironball Special Edition draws 20 watts of power from two EL84 tubes , which guarantee sufficient volume reserves for use in the rehearsal room or the club stage. Thanks to the integrated power soak , which reduces the power to 15 watts or 1 watt , this handy guitar amp can also be used at home. In addition, the power-soak of the tube head provides a speaker-off mode for completely silent electric guitar playing and recording. In order to make the natural guitar sound available for silent recording via the XLR connection or practicing with headphones , the Engl E606 Ironball Special Edition is also equipped with a speaker simulation based on impulse responses . In addition to absolutely authentic simulations of the popular Engl E212VB, E412VGB and E412XXL cabinets, five memory locations allow you to store your own impulse responses.
