Precautions for handling and storage

Storage:

Store batteries in a dry place at room temperature. Refrigeration does not extend the potential storage life. Elevated temperatures may lead to a reduced battery life. Temperatures above 100 °C may cause batteries to rupture and
leak. Storing unpackaged batteries may cause electrical short circuits and heat build-up. Avoid significant temperature fluctuations and direct sunlight.

Storage of large quantities:

Where possible, store in the original packaging. A fire alarm is recommended. For automatic fire-extinguishing systems, refer to Chapter 5 ‘Fire-fighting measures’.

Handling:

Avoid mechanical or electrical misuse. Do not short-circuit or install with reversed polarity. Insert the batteries in accordance with the device’s instructions. Do not carry unpackaged batteries in a pocket or handbag. Keep batteries out of the reach of children. For devices used by children, the battery compartment must be protected against unauthorised access. Do not swallow. Do not throw into fire or water. When replacing batteries, always replace all batteries with new ones of the same type and brand.

Charging:

Do not recharge these batteries! This battery is manufactured ready for use. It is not suitable for recharging.

Disposal:

Dispose of in accordance with official regulations.
