With Atoms, Baby Audio presents a unique plug-in that leaves conventional reverbs behind and sets new standards in creative sound design. Instead of mere room emulation, Atoms creates a floating, granular reverb texture by extracting tiny sound particles from the incoming audio signal, manipulating them and distributing them in a three-dimensional field. The result is a cinematically evocative, diffuse soundscape that goes far beyond classic reverberation chambers.

Reverb meets granular synthesis

At the core of Atoms is an innovative system that makes granular reverbs accessible in an intuitive and musically inspiring way. Each audio signal is cut into microscopically small fragments - so-called "atoms" - which can then be mirrored, stretched, distorted or spatially displaced as desired. The user receives a finely tunable spectrum of movement, texture and depth that can be staged both subtly and spectacularly.

Despite its complex architecture, Atoms remains pleasantly easy to use. The visual interface is elegant and clearly structured, with a focus on live performance and creative workflows. A central XY pad allows you to dynamically shape the sound characteristics - from glistening and shimmering to dark and ambient.
