The Tascam Model 24 is a 24-channel multi-track recorder, mixer and audio interface which can be used from the rehearsal room to the mastering studio. A traditional design makes the Model 24 an intuitive choice for users with limited experience mixing and recording with a full-size desk, whilst its modern feature set provides for experts in the field. These features include a 1-button compressor, 3-band EQs, depth filters, long 100mm faders, recording in the uncompressed 44.1/48kHz, 16/24-bit format and more besides.
Each of the first 12x channels of the Model 24 are comprised of a high-quality Tascam microphone pre-amp, a 4-band EQ, low-cut filter, auxiliary monitor sends and FX signal controls and a compressor. All 22x analogue tracks can be monitored simultaneously when played from an optional SD card.
Connect the Model 24 to a PC or Mac via the USB 2.0 port in order to use it alongside your favourite DAW software as a 16/24-bit audio interface. Large enough to record an entire band single-handedly, the Model 24 can turn any room into a studio, whilst its versatile layout and tool-kit also means it lends itself perfectly as a live mixing desk.

SUMMARY
The Model 24 will meet the needs of a lot of people who want to record their gigs, and it offers plenty for the money in the home studio too. At this price, though, there are inevitably some routing limitations.

Straight from the box I was immediately impressed with this mixer. Having owned a few other brand mixers over the years I was impressed by the Tascam's sound quality, it's feel and the amount of features it packs. It's a great addition to my studio, I highly recommend it!
