The PRS Paul's Guitar Charcoal corresponds to Paul Reed Smith's idea of the ideal stage and studio electric guitar down to the smallest details. Accordingly, high-quality woods in the form of mahogany, flamed maple and Honduran rosewood create the basis for a lively sound, while two PRS TCI humbuckers and a flexible circuit deliver finely articulated sounds with unsurpassed musicality. A perfectly matched hardware setup with PRS wraparound bridge and PRS locking tuners completes Paul's Guitar Charcoal.
With special attention to a lively and finely articulated sound with musical warmth, Paul Reed Smith chooses only high-quality woods for the PRS Paul's Guitar. Accordingly, the electric guitar has a mahogany body with a solid maple top and a glued mahogany neck with a fingerboard made of Honduran rosewood, in which elegant brushstroke bird inlays mark the positions. The not too strong "Pattern" neck profile with the perfect rounding also ensures optimal playing characteristics.
For the PRS Paul's Guitar Charcoal, Paul Reed Smith has chosen two TCI humbuckers. Tuned Capacitance and Inductance (TCI), the pickups deliver a particularly musical and detailed sound to the guitar amplifier, which skilfully translates every playing nuance in both the clean and overdrive channels. Two mini-switches between the Volume and Tone controls also allow the humbuckers to be split individually, adding glassy single-coil sounds with a brilliant treble spectrum to the sound repertoire.
Last but not least, the PRS Paul's Charcoal is complemented by hardware that is optimally matched to the instrument. The body is equipped with the proven PRS Wraparound-Stoptail, which supports the finely articulated tone of the electric guitar with brass inserts in the compensated string rest. On the headstock in the typical PRS design, furthermore PRS Phase III locking tuners ensure an exact and stable tuning of the electric guitar.
