With the PRS Wood Library Custom 24 Charcoal Blueburst the noble guitar builder from Stevensville, Maryland presents a very special version of his most successful electric guitar, which has a unique wood combination thanks to the possibilities of the PRS Wood Library program. The body is made of light swamp ash with a solid curly maple top, while the neck is made of mahogany. In addition, PRS 85/15 humbuckers on the amplifier provide a wide range of modern sound.
The PRS Wood Library Custom 24 Charcoal Blueburst convinces with an exquisite selection of wood and transparent sounds.
For the construction of the PRS Wood Library Custom 24 Charcoal Blueburst on selected woods of the highest quality. Carefully selected swamp ash is used for the body, which impresses with its low weight and characterizes the sound with a brilliant height spectrum, while the intensive grain of the solid Riegelahorn top is brought to life by the Charcoal Blueburst. The neck is traditionally made of mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard and fits comfortably in the slim "Pattern Thin" profile, so that any playing technique can be easily implemented between the 24 frets.
A PRS 85/15 bass humbucker in the neck position and a PRS 85/15 treble humbucker on the bridge are used as pickups on the PRS Wood Library Custom 24. These pickups were personally developed by Paul Reed Smith and reflect the Marylander guitar maker's 30 years of experience in a contemporary sound. The pickups convince with a remarkably clear sound, whose silky highs in connection with the tight basses and melodic mids make every played note shine, both in the clean and in the overdrive channel. With the 5-way blade switch, the humbucker coils can also be called up in different combinations, so that several sound nuances are available in the guitar sound.
The Paul Reed Smith Wood Library Custom 24 Charcoal Blueburst is completed by high-quality hardware from our own company. On the body side, the strings are supported by the proven PRS tremolo, which convinces with smooth handling and high functionality and offers a pleasant support thanks to rounded edges of the hand. At the headstock the strings run with straight tension from the saddle to the PRS Phase III locking mechanisms. These guarantee a high tuning stability even with frequent use of vibrato and make string changes much easier. The PRS Custom 24 is also delivered in a noble PRS case, which offers the electric guitar the best possible protection during transport.
