The Bell Black from 2hp is a digital drum module that generates metallic percussion sounds based on modal synthesis. It utilises eight different models, covering instruments such as the marimba, bells, vibraphone and Tibetan singing bowls. The module is six-voice polyphonic, meaning that sounds triggered in quick succession can decay within this range. The ‘Pitch’ parameter determines the pitch, whilst ‘Damp’ acts in the same way as, for example, placing a cloth over a crash cymbal. There is a CV input for each of these parameters.
