The Design Shell Set Rock XL White Gloss Laquer is a four-piece shell set made of maple with a free 18" floor tom. The Design Series from Drum Workshop combines excellent workmanship and outstanding sound. The eight-ply shells are made with HVLT construction. It combines 1/32" thick plies of North American maple in specific orientations to create a powerful combination that delivers a full spectrum of sound, attack, punch and tonal versatility. The modern DW Turret Lugs are a scaled down version of the famous round DW Lugs and offer great handling and optimal tuning stability. DW's patented STM ™ system (Suspension Tom Mount) allows the Toms to vibrate freely for maximum resonance while holding the drum securely in place. and to give drummers better control over their sound, DW has developed the True-Pitch® Rod system, also patented. The tuning screws have a 5 mm thread instead of the 12/24 thread that is standard with most other manufacturers. DW heads manufactured by REMO give the DW Design Series optimal sound with balanced character.
