The Epiphone Thunderbird '64 Inverness Green follows the classic design of the Thunderbird of the sixties.
Neck-thru construction made of mahogany and walnut
True to the original sixties design, the Thunderbird '64 features a nine-piece neck made of mahogany and walnut in a continuous neck-thru construction that forms the tonal core of the instrument. Attached to this are sculpted mahogany body wings that, thanks to their elegant offset design, offer excellent playing comfort and perfect balance whether played with a strap or seated. The wide cutaway on the lower body further allows easy access to the highest frets of the 22-fret Laurel fingerboard.
Epiphone ProBucker #760 bass humbucker
The two Epiphone ProBucker #760 bass humbuckers provide the signature Thunderbird sound with a wide tonal range. The bridge pickup delivers tight and defined tones, while the neck pickup adds warmth and vocal character. Combined, they produce a balanced, powerful sound ideal for any style. The passive wiring uses premium CTS potentiometers, with independent volume controls for each pickup and a shared tone control for overall sound shaping.
Solid Hardware from Epiphone & GraphTech
The hardware of the Epiphone Thunderbird '64 Bass remains faithful to the original sixties specifications. It features the Epiphone Historic Bass Tune-o-Matic bridge paired with the classic “Claw” tailpiece, forming the iconic Thunderbird setup. Four Epiphone open-gear tuners and a precision Graph Tech nut ensure stable tuning and smooth operation. Together with the signature Clover key design, they recreate the unmistakable headstock look of the original Thunderbird bass.
