The Future Sound Systems OSC2 Recombination Engine is a triple analog oscillator that masters the novel wave splicing technique. Each of the three tone generators features a latest generation CEM3340 chip, which not only ensures accurate tracking but also guarantees an assertive analog sound. The three VCOs are in a master/positive-slave/negative-slave arrangement and ultimately come together in the GLUE section. The Scissor (main) oscillator generates triangle, square and sawtooth waveforms, handles PWM for the square and has two FM inputs, each switchable linear or exponential. The two DNA oscillators are identical in design and generate their waveforms or wave mixtures exclusively on the positive or negative side of the amplitude. The three wave components have individual outputs and can be adjusted in level manually and by control voltage. In the GLUE section, what belongs together is brought together: Since each VCO can oscillate on its own frequency, extremely complex waveforms rich in overtones result, because ultimately the final waveform is created from the shape and frequency of the main oscillator over both DNA components.
