The Golden Age COMP-2A Single Channel Vintage-Style Compressor is a one channel vintage style Compressor/Leveller using vacuum tubes in the signal and side-chain path. The input and output are both transformer balanced using two different transformers, each one optimised for its purpose.
The circuit used in the COMP-2A is based on a classic design originally produced in the early 1960s and initially intended for broadcast applications. Using an electro-luminescent panel and a photoelectric cell to control gain, this gives it a unique, program dependent compression characteristic. The all-tube signal path and the transformers add a delightful and musical character to the sound.

Got it particularly for tracking, where I use just a bit, 2-3 dbs of gain reduction going into the DAW with vox, bass, horns, and it makes mixing so much easier. Also incredible as a vocal compressor when mixing.
