AXE I/O is a high-quality, flexible and robust USB audio interface designed specifically for guitarists and bassists who need more customisation options for their instruments. Key features include the Z-Tone control/input for adjusting the impedance, as well as matching the input level to the output level of passive and active pickups. Furthermore, the audio interface features a specially adapted amp out, allowing any amp to be connected conveniently via a standard guitar cable without the need for a DI box. This makes it quick and easy to reconfigure guitar amps and pedalboards. Another highlight is the comprehensive AmpliTube Deluxe software package, featuring a wide range of guitar and bass amp, cabinet, pedal and mic simulations (over 140!!!) for Mac or PC. These can be selected and adjusted as desired to achieve the perfect sound for your projects.
Naturally, the interface also delivers flawless results with other recording applications. The AXE owes its crystal-clear sound to its low-noise microphone inputs, whilst balanced and unbalanced line-outs are available for feeding the signal to further equipment. There are also two configurable inputs for footswitches, a built-in tuner with LED display and a MIDI I/O.
The ‘Z-Tone’ feature is ideal for guitarists and bassists: recognising that differences in pickups can result in drastic variations in dynamics and tone due to the preamp’s impedance, IK Multimedia has developed a versatile input channel. Thanks to the Z-Tone control, the preamp’s impedance can be adjusted from 1 mOhm

IK’s new Volumetric Impulse Response (VIR) utilises 600 impulse responses per speaker, 1,200 IRs for a 2-speaker cabinet and 2,400 IRs for a 4-speaker cabinet, to create a true 3D array of placement options for the virtual microphones. Naturally, users still have access to all parameters and interaction options between the speaker, cabinet and floor. Thanks to the intuitive user interface, shaping your favourite sound is now even more fun.
Best of all: over 100 cabinets have been re-measured for AmplTube 5 Max, yielding 143,000 IRs! To achieve this, a bespoke, fully automated and robot-controlled measurement system was even developed, ensuring you’ll definitely benefit from an extremely realistic and accurate sound.
