With the Profiler Stage MK 2, Kemper introduces the next generation of its popular modeling floorboard – now more compact, more powerful, and even more flexible thanks to new features and a completely reworked interior. Designed for both studio and stage, the MK 2 showcases what modern amp modeling can achieve. Central to this upgrade is the new Liquid Profiling technology, which captures over 100,000 frequency points and authentically reproduces the original amp’s gain and tone behavior. As a hybrid of a full profiling preamp, multi-effects unit, and remote controller, the rugged floorboard offers everything guitarists need – enhanced with a new effects section, an updated looper, 8-channel USB audio, and an optimized user interface. The Stage MK 2 is a substantial evolution of the renowned Profiler series, delivering clear improvements in both sound and workflow.
A major highlight is the expanded effects section. The Profiler Stage MK 2 now supports up to 20 simultaneous effect blocks – seven more than its predecessor. These include useful effect additions such as a second noise gate, an extra compressor, wah-wah, vintage chorus, air chorus, and the widely praised Double Tracker. All effects can be arranged in any order, saved individually, and accessed directly via dedicated buttons, making live operation especially intuitive. The upgraded looper now allows for up to two minutes of recording, perfect for building complex layers or capturing musical ideas on the fly.
Under the hood, the Profiler Stage MK 2 is equipped with a modern processor platform that delivers faster boot times, smoother preset switching, and an overall more responsive experience – particularly in Performance Mode. The bright display remains easy to read even under harsh stage lighting. Despite the host of upgrades, the unit weighs only 4.6 kg and retains its compact, tour-ready footprint. The rugged metal chassis is built to withstand demanding live conditions, making the Stage MK 2 a reliable companion for gigging musicians.
Beyond its profiling capabilities, the Profiler Stage MK 2 also functions as a remote controller for other Kemper units such as the Profiler Head and Rack. With ten footswitches – five for presets/scenes and five freely assignable for effects or morphing – it offers full control in a streamlined format. Additional connectivity includes four pedal inputs for expression or switch pedals, MIDI In/Out/Thru, SPDIF, headphone output, and a wide array of inputs and outputs for versatile signal routing. Whether you're integrating it into a classic amp rig or an FRFR digital system, the Stage MK 2 adapts seamlessly to any setup.
One of the most exciting new features is the USB audio interface. With up to eight individual channels, the Stage MK 2 allows for multi-track recording, parallel DI capture and re-amping directly into your DAW – without needing an external audio interface. This makes the Stage MK 2 a full-fledged studio hub. Kemper’s free Rig Manager software (available for Mac, Windows, and iOS) offers intuitive sound management and real-time editing, simplifying the workflow for both studio and live environments.
