Kiloheart's Bit crush is a finely adjustable bitcrusher with an extended range of functions: First, bit depth and sample rate can be reduced as usual. Dither adds dither noise that compensates for distortions in the signal caused by downsampling. ADC Q and DAC Q allow you to adjust the quality of the virtual digital converters: This can be used to artificially create digital artifacts at the lower respectively upper end of the target spectrum - harmonics, in other words, that have no relation to the source material and sound very discordant and biting.
With these functions, Kiloheart's Bitcrush allows you to recreate the sound of old transducers, such as those used in reverbs from the 80s or grainy digital synthesizers like the DX7 or D50. These devices are usually characterized by an excellent assertiveness in the Mix and a grippy retro sound. In more extreme settings, however, you can of course also achieve the well-known nasty hard StyleBass drums or thicken flat-chested Soft synths.
