Phaser effect pedal in compact housing for electric guitar
With the MXR M290 Phase 95, the MXR effect specialists pack their two legendary phaser effects into a compact housing. In "Phase 90" mode, the compact pedal delivers the sophisticated, distinctive 4-stage phasing sound that established MXR on the musical map in the early 1970s, while in "Phase 45" mode, the softer 2-stage sound of its successor is on the program, which blends harmoniously into any band context. In addition, the script switch switches between two different effect voicings. Regularly, the program features modern voicing, which uses feedback to provide accentuated modulation, while when the script switch is activated, a lush sound with extended headroom and greater clarity is available. Furthermore, the modulation speed of the MXR Phase 95 can be set via the only "Speed" control.
a total of 4 different settings combined with the speed knob gives an incredible array of sounds. From a little harsh womping fast jiggle, to super smooth gentle slow phasing almost not perceivable, but yet, augmenting my overall sound. Awesome little product. A little pricey, but glad I bought it.
Compared to a regular phase 90, the phase 95 can deliver a much cleaner/transparent sound, and without the loud volume boost when activated. Beside that it can both be thick sounding but also clean and vintage sounding compared to the regular or the Mooer Ninety Orange phase pedal. The phase 95 is to me best sounding and most versatile phase pedal that I have tried without being to expensive. And it is analog compared to digital phase pedals in the same range, the phase 95 is much more alive sounding and warmer.
