Professional ONYX control for compact and scalable lighting set-ups

The NX W is a professional USB control interface for the Obsidian ONYX lighting control platform and enhances a Windows PC with a powerful hardware console. Thanks to plug-and-play connectivity via USB-C, no additional installation is required – simply connect it to a PC running ONYX and start controlling the lighting straight away.

The control interface features ten motorised 60 mm playback faders with RGB backlighting and four freely assignable function keys on each. The control concept is complemented by ten freely configurable multifunction buttons, four digital rotary encoders with push function and RGB status LEDs, and a Master Go section with Go, Pause, Snap and Release buttons. High-speed optical buttons with RGB lighting and a full numeric keypad ensure precise and efficient operation.

Extensive connectivity options and an expandable licensing concept

When used with ONYX on a PC, the NX W unlocks 16 control universes and supports the DMX, RDM, Art-Net, sACN and ONYX X-Net protocols. Four DMX/RDM ports are available via four lockable 5-pin XLR connectors. In addition, the unit features a Gigabit Ethernet port (RJ45),USB-C input and output for connection to a PC or for linking additional devices, as well as lockable Power-In and Power-Thru ports.

A protected USB-A licence port allows the system to be expanded to up to 128 universes using an ONYX licence key. An ONYX 16-universe licence, including 5 DyLOS zones, is already included.

The package includes an RGB LED desk lamp with an angled XLR connector, a dust cover, an Obsidian USB-C cable, a USB A-C combo recovery key with a lanyard, a 1.5 m lockable power cable, and USB-A-to-USB-C and USB-C-to-USB-B adaptors. With dimensions of 540 × 310 × 80 mm and a weight of 6 kg, the NX W is suitable for both portable use and fixed installations.
