Tracker Mini vs. Tracker

As the name suggests, the Tracker Mini is the compact version of the Polyend Tracker. The primary difference is noticeable in the size and number of controls. There have also been some changes under the hood. The Mini has to do without the FM radio, but it can boast a few extras compared to the larger model:

In addition, the supplied accessories include a hard case that protects the Mini Tracker from damage and dirt during transportation and when not in use. Projects created on the original tracker are fully compatible with the Mini, so you can start a song at Studio and finish it on the go.

The sound generation

The Tracker Mini goes far beyond the sequencer features and combines various digital sound generators with up to 11 minutes of recording time for samples in mono and Stereo in CD quality, including an offline editor and a built-in microphone. The synthesizer models make do with a manageable number of parameters and bring the sonic focus to the point:

• ACD takes on the 303 theme
• FAT delivers the rich sound of Vintage synths with 2-3 oscillators
• VAP moves into the terrain of an analog poly synth with 2 tone generators
• WTFM combines 2 operator FM synthesis with wavetable oscillators and a triple feedback system.
• PERC requires only one voice, but generates up to five drums simultaneously. The spectrum ranges from classic TR drums to glitchy and industrial sounds.

With a multimode filter, LFO and ADSR envelope for each instrument and a dual effects block with delay, flanger, compressor, bitcrusher and more, you are perfectly equipped to work creatively with this Groovebox. With the Mini Tracker you have a complete Studio in your hands: create complete songs including final mix, mastering and automation directly in the device and record 14 stereo tracks in the DAW via USB.

The sequencer

The device, which is compatible with the classic tracker MOD files, impresses with clearly arranged controls and a razor-sharp 5" color display. Cryptic parameters from the past are now displayed in plain text, which significantly improves the workflow. The 16 tracks are divided into eight freely assignable tracks and a further eight for external MIDI tracks. 256 patterns can be saved per project; a single pattern can have a length of up to 128 steps. Access is rounded off with a random function, the Euclidean pattern generator and exciting live functions such as eg. Time Stretch, Step Repeater and Reverse.
