RCF ART 315-A MKIII active 15"/1", 400Watt
The active 2-way speakers of the 312-A mkIII from RCF offers flexibility for all kinds of applications. It can be used as a full-range speaker or in combination with a subwoofer. It is ideally suited for fixed installations as well as mobile applications. The ability of this speaker to be used as a stage monitor is due to its angled housing, while the 3 M10 flying points provide extra flexibility.
The 12“ woofer is driven by a 300 Watt Bi-Amp, together with the 1“ tweeter requiring 100 Watt. With this product, RCF not only manages a decent output of 128dB, but manages to cover a wide frequency spectrum. The woofer reaches up to 45Hz in the low-end, while the highs stretch to 20 kHz. However, with so much power a little protection is required, which comes in the form of an integrated Limiter.
On the rear you will find a volume level control for incoming XLR signals as well as a XLR and a jack output for linking. If a microphone ever needs to be connected directly to the speaker, a switch is located right next to the connections, which allows you to select between Line and Mic signals. Background music can be boosted by the EQ switch, in the even that the system is at a low level. All other applications should be operated in Flat mode. The three LEDs give the user information about the source signal, the activation of the Limiter and On/Off status.
Saving the best for last; the housing. It consists of a special polypropylene material which dampens housing vibrations and rattles even at maximum volume levels. The low frequency range of this model is in part due to the bass reflex opening. Naturally it also provides enough protection and is robust enough to take abuse.
