Ive been using the Octapad SPD-30 some months for now and I must say Im pretty surprised by the opportunities it gave me. However, I do find the looping somewhat difficult with the SPD-30, especially for live performances. When it comes to sound, its quiet impressive, offering a wide variety of sound effects (FX up to 30 effect each sound) & layering possibilities, what gives you the opportunity to have highly personalized sound sounds, and Im only speaking of the built-in presets. I have not yet been exploring the MIDI but Im quiet sure it will not dissapoint you.
