For the construction of the Basic TM, the Brunswick company relies on a proven wood selection and a 35" Extra Longscale scale length (889 mm), which guarantees a particularly tight sound with even Sustain. Accordingly, the body is made of ash, while the six-bolt neck is five-piece maple with mahogany dividers and carries an ebony fingerboard. The flat C-profile offers smooth playability across all 24 frets, while the modern body design maintains a perfectly balanced playing position on both the strap and thigh.
With Delano pickups and an active 2-band equalizer, the Basic TM bass guitar delivers versatile sounds.

The pickups used on the Basic TM5 Blackburst Satin are JMVC and MCFE pickups from Delano, which deliver a wide range of sounds at the bass amplifier. While the Delano JMVC in middle position promises a powerful sound with harmonic depth, the fat MCFE humbucker at the bridge provides a powerful in-your-face tone with punchy mids. The MCFE humbucker can also be split via the mini-switch to create traditional bridge pickup sounds. For precise tone tuning, the active bass is also equipped with a 2-band tone control. With a pull of the volume knob, the Bass can also be set to passive mode.
