Product information - Takamine GY51E N

Electro acoustic guitar in

With the Takamine GY51E N, the traditional Japanese manufacturer presents a compact Parlor Western guitar equipped with an in-house pickup system. Thanks to its small size, the GY51E N produces clear mid and treble frequencies and is thus excellently suited for expressive picking and fingerstyle. At the same time the round neck offers a very high playability in all 21 frets. The open headstock gives the instrument a very traditional charm, which is accentuated by subtle decorations and inlays in a very aesthetic way.

Construction and woods

To give the sound a clear definition, the manufacturer installs a solid spruce top on a laminated body of American walnut. This way the tone unfolds with a very fast response and sounds long-lasting. The bass frequencies transport a gentle warmth so that the whole sound spreads out with a lot of substance. To make fingering easier, the mahogany neck is equipped with a round profile and a Laurel fingerboard. Therefore even complex fingering patterns can be mastered easily.

Hardware and Design

Thanks to an openwork bridge inlay and a narrow 42.5mm nut, the Parlor guitar intonates very accurately throughout the 630mm scale. The side-mounted tuners also allow for precise tuning of the 6 steel strings. Matching the traditional look the rest of the acoustic guitar is designed. In addition to multi-ply bindings, the top is decorated with a multi-stripe soundhole rosette made of abalone, which is tastefully matched to the bindings. The overall look of the Takamine GY51E N is refined by a gossamer-thin high-gloss finish that emphasizes the structure of the tonewoods used.
