The VOX amPlug 2 Lead is a portable headphone amplifier offering three amp styles with nine selectable effects and an auxiliary input. The new-for-NAMM 2017 amPlug 2 Series consists of headphone amps with a considerably improved analogue circuit and a choice of three modes.
This "Lead" version offers Boost1, which represents the classic 1980s hard rock/heavy metal lead sound, Boost2, which produces a lead sound with boosted mids, and Boost3, which creates an ultra-high gain lead sound with boosted mids. Constructed with a foldable plug mechanism, this headphone amplifier rotates 180° and a features an auto power-off function. Powered by two AAA batteries, the amPLUG lasts up to 17 hours on full charge.
VOX amPlug 2 Lead B-Stock/DemoI must confess that I am already addicted to this little fella.The sound is as advertised , not too polished, nor too flattering and still very rea and funl. Very much headphone depending. I am not going to make a whole review of it, but I am sure it will be a great companion for everyone who's looking for easy and quiet way to practice and play along
