For the body of the Ibanez RG970WFMZ, Ibanez uses American lime, while the noble top is made of curly maple, whose intensive grain is perfectly highlighted by the transparent faded denim finish. The neck is screwed to the body via the classic "Ibanez All Access Neck Joint", which guarantees unhindered playability up to the high positions. Two extremely hard woods, wenge and bubinga, are used for its construction, which together with the wenge handle bed guarantee high stability. With its "Wizard" profile, the neck also provides a comfortable basis for fast riffs and long solos when playing the guitar.
The Ibanez Premium RG970WFMZ DiMarzio IBZ pickups in HSH configuration do the electrical sound conversion, making them a sound all-rounder for rock and metal. The bridge humbucker delivers a powerful sound, whose high midrange presence together with the tight bass and brilliant highs ensure a high assertiveness. Its counterpart on the neck, on the other hand, has a warm, yet transparent tone that convinces with both clenen and slightly distorted sounds. Both humbuckers are complemented by a single coil in the middle position, which extends the tonal variety by bell-like clear accents. The pickups are classically managed by a 5-way blade switch as well as general volume and tone potentiometers.
The Ibanez Premium RG 970 uses the proven Edge-Zero II tremolo as a bridge, which convinces even with extreme dive bombs and squeals with absolute tuning stability. The tremolo is also complemented by the ZPS3Fe Zero Point System, which provides a fixed stop point to maintain tuning even in the event of a broken string. In addition, high-quality Ibanez die-cast mechanisms on the head plate ensure precise tuning.
