Traditional oscillators, filters, and envelopes have been replaced by real elements from stringed instruments. Thanks to its unique structure, the AAS String Studio VS-1 can produce the sounds of impressive guitars, basses, harps, clavinets, strings, percussion instruments, as well as especially warm and animated tones of new, previously unheard instruments with breathtaking sound density and naturalness. Like all AAS software synthesizers, all sounds are calculated in real time with no samples used. String Studio VS-1 is particularly easy to use due to its well thought-out and clearly structured interface. The integrated browser makes navigating parameters and presets especially simple. Along with an extensive library containing many real string and ethnic instruments, String Studio VS-1 also comes with numerous high-quality effects to extensively process and refine sounds and instruments.

Features include support for macOS and Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8) with 64-bit compatibility (32-bit for PC and Mac only), a high-quality comprehensive library, an integrated browser for easy preset navigation and organization, unlimited undo and redo, and operation as standalone software or plug-in in VST, AU, and RTAS formats. Freely definable MIDI maps with MIDI Learn functionality are included, as well as high-quality effects like chorus, delay, and reverb. MIDI clock, tap tempo, and host tempo synchronization are also supported.
