The DW Collectors Finish Ply shell set in Gun Metal Sparkle is a high-end maple shell set. The five-piece drum kit was manufactured according to the proven SSC concept with timbre matching, i.e. the number of wood layers increase with increasing shell size. The Gun Metal Sparkle finish in combination with the Chrome hardware is an optical highlight. The STM Supension Tom Mounts allow the two tom toms to resonate completely freely, allowing the pure maple shells to develop their full potential. Remo heads, True Pitch tension rods and True Hoops guarantee tuning stability and an ideal playing feel. The Finish Ply concept treats the outer layer as part of the shell, it has a bearing edge and contributes to the balanced sound.
DW's Pure Maple shells consist of 6 layers of maple with a reinforcement ring on the toms and seven layers on the bass drum and floor tom. The SSC concept adjusts the number of layers of wood to the size of the shell, ensuring that each shell has the perfect sound. Timbre Matching determines the natural keynote of the shell and stamps it on the inside. With each DW Collectors Set you get a completely harmonious drum set. The Gun Metal Sparkle wrap finish as part of the shell actively contributes to the sound design, it has a bearing edge like the wooden layers and minimally dampens annoying overtones.
The DW Collectors Finish Ply Shell Set is equipped with True Pitch tension rods. These fine pitch tuning rods allow a more differentiated and accurate tuning than conventional tuning rods. The STM Supension Tom Mounts provide a completely free vibration of the tom, so the tone unfolds perfectly. The Remo heads can be tightened with the True Hoops from DW with extreme tuning stability. The entire hardware is in chrome, which harmonizes perfectly with the Sparkle finish.
