Product information - JBL VRX 9 System

The JBL VRX 9 is a complete PA system. The VRX9 system is a professional sound system for very demanding applications. High-quality individual components ensures the greatest degree of fidelity. The perfect coupling of the elements ensures optimum phase behavior and a very precise stereo image. The VRX 928LA Line Array elements can be scaled in each tweeter level in three 3dB steps. Thus, the system can be optimized both in the array length as a distance on the sound. The wiring is mixed up by the amplifier via an optional quadruple cable with Speakon connector to the sub and continue with the tops. Each amplifier supplies while a PA page.

The VRX 9 system consists of:

  • 4x JBL VRX 928LA
  • 2x JBL VRX 915S
  • 2x Crown XTi 2002
  • 1x 19 "4U Rack
  • 2x stand rods

The VRX928LA is a lightweight (28 lb. / 13 kg) compact 8" two-way linearray speaker system designed for use in arrays of up to six units. The VRX928LA is a lightweight (28 lb / 13 kg) compact 8" two-way linearray speaker system designed for use in arrays of up to six units. VRX928LA is the ideal choice when line-array performance is needed but the venue size doesn’t call for the very long-throw characteristics of larger line-arrays such as JBL’s VERTEC or VRX932LA. The Constant Curvature waveguide mounts two compression drivers on a continuous arc. When additional VRX928LA speakers are added to the array the uninterrupted arc continues. In effect, all the drivers work together as if they were a single driver on a very long waveguide. Since there are two HF drivers in each VRX928LA, the combined power handling and acoustic output of the system is far greater than a single driver could achieve. VRX928LA uses “amplitude shading” to shape the coverage of the array. Switches on the input plate allow, for example, the upper box in an array to reach the distant rear of a room while the lower box is shaded back to reduce excessive level at the front of the listening area. One or two VRX928LAs may also be used on a tripod or over the VRX915S subwoofer. The integral rigging hardware is used to securely lock the array together. As many as six VRX928LA speaker systems may be suspended in a single array for a nominal vertical coverage of up to 90°. Suspended applications require the JBL VRX928LA-SMAF array frame (available separately). For applications in which the array must be aimed sharply down, a second Array Frame may be installed to the bottom of the array serving as a pull-back.

The VRX915S is a compact, high power suspendable subwoofer system containing a 2265G-1 neodymium magnet, patented Differential Drive, 15" woofer in a front-loaded, vented enclosure. The VRX915S was designed specifically for use in arrays with the VRX928LA Line Array speaker and VRX-SMAF Array Frame. In addition it may also be used in arrays consisting entirely of VRX915S subwoofers. The system offers complete input connection flexibility for compatibility with a variety of cabling schemes. A recessed, external switch allows selection of either contacts +1/-1 or +2/-2 to be routed to the woofer. Equally at home in ground stacked applications, the VRX915S is equipped with a top-mounted, threaded, 20 mm socket that can receive the optional SS4-BK pole. This adjustable height pole can be used to mount speakers equipped with standard 36 mm pole sockets. The threaded socket minimizes buzzing and rattling and assures that the pole will be secure and straight. The enclosure is constructed of top quality birch plywood, coated in JBL’s rugged DuraFlex finish and is heavily braced to maximize low-frequency performance. The attractive CNC-machined, 16-gauge steel grille is internally lined with acoustically transparent foam to provide additional driver protection and give a very professional appearance. The rear of the enclosure is fitted with T-nuts which may be used to attach the optional WK-4 caster kit

There's no debate – when you choose Crown's XTi 2 Series, you're choosing one of the most powerful and innovative amplifiers on the market today. That's because the all-new XTi 2 Series amps continue to set the standard for unmatched performance and value, delivering the goods night after night without breaking a sweat.
