Natural stereo enhancement for Mix and mastering
With the Stereoizer, Nugen Audio offers a high-quality stereo enhancement plug-in that has been specially developed for subtle, musical interventions in Mix and mastering. Instead of artificially "over-widening" the sound image, the Stereoizer provides a controlled and natural widening.
Two algorithms for targeted stereo processing
The focus is on two intelligent algorithms: IID (Inter-aural Intensity Difference) and ITD (Inter-aural Time Difference). The IID algorithm is based on frequency-dependent intensity differences and is particularly suitable for audibly widening mono material. The ITD algorith m is time-based,much more subtle and therefore ideal for fine corrections without jeopardizing mono compatibility.
Both algorithms can be used individually or in combination. Using the practical link function, their settings can be combined and adjusted synchronously without losing the balance between the two.
Intuitive operation and flexible modulation
The Stereoizer's user interface is clearly structured and allows you to get started quickly. The most important parameters are arranged logically and enable targeted work without detours.
A particular highlight is the Dynamics section in the top right-hand corner of the interface. Here, the algorithms can be modulated via LFO - even tempo-synchronized to the DAW. The effect ranges from a subtle shimmer to clearly audible movements in the stereo field. Even if this feature is more of a creative extra than a classic mastering tool, it offers interesting possibilities for sound design and mix refinement.
Versatile applications in everyday studio work
The Stereoizer is suitable for a variety of typical everyday studio applications. For example, a stereo image that is too narrow or flat can be specifically expanded to create more space and depth. The plugin is particularly effective when converting mono tracks into a wider stereo image - for example with vocals, guitars or synths. The modulation functions can also be used to add movement to the panorama, making mixes appear more lively and dynamic. At the same time, the Stereoizer helps to better control eccentric audio material and create a balanced mid-range distribution without having to resort to drastic EQ interventions.
