Doepfer A-111-3v Micro Precision VCO Vintage Edition

VCO / LFO module

Doepfer A-111-3v (Vintage Edition) is an analog VCO / LFO with a wide frequency range, tracking over at least ten octaves, multiple waveforms, connectivity and oscillator synchronization. It can be easily integrated into any Eurorack modular system. The circuitry of the A-111-3 is similar to that of the high-end VCO A-111-2 from Doepfer, but with reduced functions and controls. Nevertheless, the module is suitable as a modulator for linear FM and much more.

Frequency setting on Doepfer A-111-3v

The A-111-3 has two frequency adjustment elements, a switch between LFO and VCO mode and a tune control with a jumper:

  • Jumper position 1: 16 Hz to 20 kHz
  • Jumper position 2: 16 Hz to 70 Hz
  • without jumper: 16 Hz to 22 Hz

The XM control can be used as finetune when nothing is plugged into the XM jack.

The connection options on the A-111-3v

A 1V/octave input is supplemented by two FM inputs, one for linear and one for exponential frequency modulation. The
VCO has a triangular core from which sawtooth, pulse and sine are generated
The width of the pulse can be adjusted from 0% to 100% and of course modulated to.

Synchronization with the Micro Precision VCO

For oscillator synchronization there is an input whose type is selected with a jumper from soft to hard sync. The two syncs sound quite different, because the hard sync is more cutting and biting.

  • 1 V/octave input
  • exponential and linear FM input
  • sync input
  • PWM CV input
  • Waveforms: Sawtooth, triangle and pulse

  • Type of Modul: Oscilator
