The Fender American Vintage ’64 Jazz Bass 4-String Bass Guitar in 3-Colour Sunburst is a reissue of a model that was both a first and last for Fender – it was the first Jazz Bass to feature a slimmer C-profile neck and the last to come with clay-dot inlays.
The Fender American Vintage ’64 Jazz Bass features an Alder body that is an accurate replica of the 1964 original and is accompanied by a slim Maple neck. The neck itself is finished off with a 20-fret round-laminated Rosewood fingerboard with clay coloured dot inlays and classic Jazz Bass headstock. This selection combines to produce a highly playable, lightweight instrument that is full of classic bass tones.
The body of the Fender American Vintage ’64 Jazz Bass is fitted with a pair of newly designed American Vintage ’64 Jazz Bass pickups that are both connected to their own volume controls and a master tone control. This simple setup allows for a wide range of signature Jazz Bass tones to be easily and quickly reached. Joining the pickups is a vintage-style bridge with threaded steel barrel saddles, American Vintage reverse open gear tuners, a four-ply tortoiseshell pickguard and historically accurate positioned pickup and F-stamped bridge covers.
