Paragon ST from Nugen Audio combines the authentic sound of real impulse responses with the flexibility of algorithmic reverb processors - specially optimized for use in stereo mixes. By dispensing with classic impulse response libraries in favor of intelligent re-synthesis technology, Paragon ST opens up a new dimension in reverb design: realistic, malleable and completely artifact-free. The natural character of real rooms is retained, while sound parameters can be modulated far beyond the original impulse response.
In contrast to conventional convolution reverbs, Paragon ST offers fully interactive sound design. Parameters such as decay, room size and pre-delay can be adjusted in real time, without the typical disadvantage of static impulse responses. Particularly practical for musicians: the pre-delay can be tempo-synchronized, allowing rhythmic passages to be musically accentuated. In addition, a modulation unit provides subtle movement in the reverberation, which is ideal for lively, organic mixes. The width of the stereo image can also be specifically shaped, inspired by the well-known Nugen "Stereoizer".
The heart of the plug-in is the IR panel, which visually displays the resynthesized impulse responses. Here, users can analyze the spectral progression and intervene in a targeted manner - be it to remove unwanted frequencies or to emphasize specific sound areas. An integrated parametric EQ and frequency-dependent decay control enable extremely precise processing directly in the plugin. Instead of working with thousands of static presets, all you need is a compact, modeled IR library that can be transformed in a versatile way.
Paragon ST is explicitly aimed at producers who work in a classic stereo workflow. Compared to the multichannel version "Paragon", Paragon ST deliberately dispenses with surround features such as 7.1.2 routing, LFE control or immersive formats such as Dolby Atmos. Instead, the focus is clearly on the stereo mix for music productions - perfect for vocals, drums, guitars or synths. The microsphone distance control allows the perceived proximity of the sound source to the virtual microphone to be precisely controlled, making it possible to model the spatiality in a targeted manner.
