Midas preamps on the end of a CAT5e cable for less than £300? I've been running gigs at a smallish venue for the past year with one of these connected to my X32 Compact. We're always complimented by attendees at how good the gigs sound so this has definitely been a good investment! I still find myself shaking my head in disbelief that I've got such a comprehensive digital I/O connection to the entire stage via. a single CAT5e cable. Very much looking forward making use of the Ultranet system and adding a couple of P16s to the stage to allow artists to mix their own monitor mix allowing me to focus on making FOH sound good. I imagine I'll need to upgrade to the S16 once we scale up the gigs to full bands, but for now the SD8 is perfect for small venues running gigs with 3-4 musicians.
