The Behringer X-ADAT is an expansion card for the X32 mixing console that allows connection to other equipment that is has ADAT I/O.
By replacing the X-USB card with the X-DANTE card, you can expand your X32’s connectivity by 32 channels of ADAT I/O via eight optical TOSLINK connectors. It also has BNC word-clock I/O for external clock sync via the four TOSLINK inputs.
The Behringer X-ADAT card has 24bit signal transmission at 48 or 44.1kHz sample rates, all via optical connections which help to eliminate ground loop interference.
The Behringer X-ADAT features include:
I use this ADAT card in an X32 rack to receive inputs from an audio interface to be processed to send to a P16 headphone system in my studio so then I can process what the artists hear separately to what I want to record (add gates, extra compression and exaggerated EQ etc).
The ADAT card worked as soon as I installed it and clocking it to my recording system was simple and was as explained in the instructions the card comes with.
I spent a while trying to research this card before taking the plunge and couldn't find anyone else using it in the same way as I wanted to/am doing so hopefully this review will prove useful to anyone wanting to set up the same system!
