This guitar is a lovely beginner guitar and puts the player far closer to the strings. It is also suitable for studio recording and advanced playing as it has a wonderfully wide scope of tonal range. Because of this the guitar can handle just about every application from semi acoustic work right up to air guitar and blues/jazz/rock/folk. It has something for everybody.

The neck is slim enough for a child to easily play and dispenses with the need for a 3/4 size guitar or a nylon stringed guitar if you use lighter strings.

The player is instantly rewarded by beautiful tones and the guitar build quality is exceptionally good for the price. Being so close to the strings gets the beginner into good playing habits as when going over to acoustic after much shorty practice the strumming/plucking hands seem to find far better position.

They are much loved by buskers as they are so transportable and well up to playing as an electric or semi accoustic.

The supplied guitar lead as far as I am concerned is not really for for purpose and I have found this in the case off all of my shorty guitar supplied leads. Don't let that put you off!!

I have this guitar as well as the shorty deluxe (twin hum bucker pickup and improved body), and the shorty bass. I can plainly tell you that an ensemble of the shorty bass, standard and deluxe makes for truly delightful listening.

It is also take anywhere and the case looks more like an air rifle bag than a guitar case. It can even be played in a car. I have my practice amp which fits in the pocket of the guitar case.

The guitar responds well and sounds as good as anything that you might have to pay far more for.

As the guitar can fulfil many roles it replaces the need for having to get separate acoustic and electric guitars; even as an acoustic, it sounds exactly like a very expensive semi accoustic.

Unusually for an electric guitar, the strings sound like ringing an acoustic but not quite as loud as it doesn't have the acoustic chamber.

For a child, for example, I would suggest changing the strings to gauge 8 as the strings are a little hard but even as so, the guitar still responds exceptionally well.

I got the shorty bass, rhythm and deluxe for under £400. They sounds as if you could easily have payed at least that for one of them.

This makes them ideal for everybody including somebody who is beginning and I think the affordability brings a high quality instrument into the reach of those which a tight or restricted budget and within the reach of a child saving up pocket money for their first guitar.

You need an amplifier or practice amp to play the guitar but the ring of strings means it could be tuned without being connected to an amp.

Yes, it is small and light, but it plays well and has an Impressive sound from its humbucker pickup. The action is low and this makes it easy to play well up into the higher frets. Its centre of gravity does take time to get used to, as the headstock and arm are heavier than the base and tend to make it tip over when playing. You can get around this by supporting the base on the left leg rather than the right, or fitting an acoustic type strap around the headstock.This is a travel or practice guitar, and fulfills this purpose very well, as it is light and small, comes with a carry bag, and when playing feels just like its larger counterpart. apart of course from the weight distribution. I got this at a sale price and am very pleased with it.

Plays as well as any of my other guitars just a little neck heavy which can be countered by use of a suede leather strap.

General purpose of buying was to buy electric guitar for the child. It works. Full scale even for small hands. Not too heavy and it is real guitar not a toy. Workmanship and sound more than ok.
It require some time to find best playing position (body is quite small) but after - pure joy.
