The Mapex BPDLV728X Versatus Design Lab Shell Set Peach Burl Burst is a high-end drumset for versatile applications. The drum shells are manufactured according to the Design Lab principle. As the shell size increases, so does the number of layers used. All shells are made of hybrid maple and mahogany. Equipped with the MAATS-A system (Magnetic Air Adjustment Tom Suspension) and the SAS Floor Tom Legs, the Mapex Design Lab drums offer revolutionary innovations. Further features are the Soniclear™ Bearing Edges, the Master Tune Lugs and the Auxiliary Drum, which functions as a 3in1 instrument. The Brushed Black Nickel Hardware and the Peach Burl Burst Finish complete the optical impression.
With the Design Lab Drumset from Mapex, the reinforcement rings are not only used to stabilize the shell, they also have an active influence on the sound. Each shell size is individually built with differently arranged reinforcement rings that produce the perfect sound from any drum size. The Mapex Design Lab shells are hybrid shells made of maple and mahogany. As the diameter increases, the number of layers of wood increases and the bearing edge varies between 45° and 60°.
In this way, the highest possible sound potential is exploited from each drum format. Of course, all shells are still equipped with the proven Mapex Soniclear™ bearing edge. This is rounded on the outside and allows an easy tuning process as well as a generally deeper pitch, because the head collar fits better.
The new Mapex Master Lugs in Brushed Black Nickel look have very little contact with the shell due to their small contact surface. In addition, a pressure lock mechanism is built in, which prevents the drum from becoming out of tune. Another world first is the SAS Floor-Tom Legs. This system influences the sound by varying the angle of the legs to determine the length of the sound.
The MAATS-A system (Magnetic Air Adjustment Tom Suspension) was developed to bring the pure sound of the shell to the focus. Its suspension allows the drum's response to be personalized according to each player's personal preferences. The result is an unprecedented sound and feel with perfect resonance. The MAATS system (patent pending) balances the weight of the drum with magnets and lets them float completely free. An ingenious system allows you to adjust the sustain and feel of each tom in seconds.
The 18 "x12" auxiliary drum can be used as bass drum, floor tom and gong tom. On one side it is equipped with a wooden hoop and bass drum head, on the other side with a steel hoop and a tom head. Removable bass drum legs, a bass drum lifter and three legs for the Floor Tom are included. So there are many different set-ups to choose from.
