The Arturia Beatstep offers a new dimension of functionality. On the one hand, this Pad Controller can be used to trigger clips in Ableton or to control individual drum sounds. The Beatstep is also a 16-Step sequencer, which can ne connected via USB, MIDI or even CV. This allows virtual plug-in instruments as well as hardware instruments to be controlled. In my opinion only one feature is missing a randomize patern function/generator for those moments when you run out of ideas or those lazy days we all have once in a while.
But maybe this could be implemented in a future os revision.
