In addition to the noble black design in a high-gloss finish, the brand-new signature model impresses with its comprehensive functionality, which is completed by a custom-made pickup system. At the same time, the solid wood top provides a balanced and powerful sound that easily asserts itself in strumming and Pickings. At the same time, the flat neck is particularly enjoyable for both beginners and advanced players, as it has a very grippy profile that harmonizes excellently with the slight radius of the fingerboard and the slim 43mm nut width. Thus, all 20 frets can be reached and operated comfortably. This is supported by the generous cutaway, which allows optimized access to the high positions. At the same time, the black die-cast tuners guarantee precise tuning, while the compensated saddle and nut ensure clean intonation across the entire 650mm scale. The visual highlights are undoubtedly the Fame Forum headstock with signature inlay, the wooden bindings and the white custom laser engraving on the top.

Construction and woods

In order for the Fame acoustic guitar to produce a balanced yet powerful tone, the mid-sized Grand Auditorium body consists of a solid spruce top and a laminated mahogany body. With the help of internal bracing, this combination develops warm bass, midrange and clear treble frequencies that unfold quickly and cover a wide area. At the same time, the 5-piece mahogany neck with ebony inserts promises comfortable playability across all 20 frets set into a sturdy HPL fingerboard.

Hardware and design

The compensated bridge inlay and the 43 mm wide bone nut ensure clean intonation of the strings, which can be easily and precisely tuned with the help of the black Fame die-cast tuners. Peter Maffay's signature in the form of a filigree inlay sits enthroned between the tuners and is perfectly matched to the mother-of-pearl binding of the special headstock. In addition, the headstock is equipped with a Peter Maffay custom truss rod cover.

The top

To generate a clear and balanced sound, the top is made of solid spruce. Spruce wood is ideally suited for the construction of high-quality musical instruments due to its fine grain and superior sound characteristics. Below the soundhole is the initial "M" in white colour, which tastefully contrasts the matte black colouring of the body. The top is bordered by a filigree, multi-layered rosewood binding, which perfectly matches the rosewood bridge. To protect the top wood from scratches, a large black pickguard is positioned below the sound hole.

Back and sides

To enrich the bass frequencies with a warm note, the back and sides are made of mahogany. The extra thinly layered material harmonizes excellently with the solid top wood so that there is no need to fear any loss of sound. Thus, the guitar gains substance in the bass and midrange even with a light touch of the strings and produces a broad sound carpet in a rapid response. The individual components of the back of the body are also limited by wooden bindings so that the overall appearance turns out very coherent and premium.

Electronics

To round out the Peter Maffay Signature model in terms of functionality, an extensive custom pickup system is built into the body. The pressure exerted by the strings on the saddle and the piezo element underneath directly picks up the acoustic sound of the acoustic guitar and sends it to the amplifier. In addition, the output signal can be individually adjusted via three chrome potentiometers mounted on the top. Thus, the overall volume, bass and treble frequencies can be adjusted. The active system is powered by a 9V block battery, which is located in a battery compartment in the bottom frame.
