The Sommer Cable QMHI-I04/08-0200
The Multipair SC-Quantum QMC is a maximally flexible cable for optimum manageability. Its S-PVC jacket is strong and soft at the same time and its fine CU individual strands of 0.07 mm as well as PE-insulated core insulation also contribute their part. In this eight-pair variant, a yellow-green ground wire is also incorporated, providing further stability and safety.
In addition to its resistance in combination with uncomplicated handling, the cable shines with excellent electrical and mechanical data. The wire pairs with a cross-section of 2x 0.14 mm² made of high-purity copper ensure good conductivity. Due to the symmetrical signal transmission, a CU spiral shield with 99% coverage and the low capacitance of 45 pF wire/wire, the cable is extremely insensitive to interference even over long distances and furthermore has an excellent performance as well as AES/EBU conformity.
The cable is equipped with four Neutrik stereo jacks (NP3X), four XLR cable connectors (NC3MXX) and four XLR jacks (NC3FXX). In addition to their usual good quality, the connectors also have user-friendly features.
Neutrik NP3X is a 6.3mm stereo phone plug with nickel-plated contacts. Its slim design with a width of only 14.5 mm is especially designed for tight spaces. It allows a high mating density on jack panels. Due to the collet strain relief, the connector fits tightly and its precision-milled, one-piece contacts prevent the tip contact from snagging.
NC3MXX and NC3FXX feature silver-plated contacts that ensure good conductivity. Both connectors have a slim, ergonomic design, making them suitable for tight spaces. In addition, marking options using colored rings and clamping sleeves provide clarity when using many cables.
The XLR connectors are designed to be a good choice even under tougher conditions. They feature a rugged, durable die-cast metal housing and a cable grommet with polyurethane bend protection. This protects against kinking or tearing even under mechanical stress.
