The FENDER Dave Murray Stratocaster RW 2-Tone Sunburst 6-String electric guitar is the most recent collaboration between Fender and the legendary Iron Maiden guitarist to hit the market.
The Fender Dave Murray Stratocaster has been inspired by the long-time go-to stage guitar of the man himself and mimics it as close as is humanly possible. It features an Alder body that is joined by a Maple neck with a classic “C” profile . The neck itself is topped by a 9.5” – 14” compound radius Rosewood fingerboard that is fitted with 21 medium jumbo frets and white dot inlays.
Like his favourite stage guitar, the Fender Dave Murray Stratocaster is fitted with a set of three single-coil sized Seymour Duncan humbucker pickups - a Hot rails for Strat SHR-1N in the neck position, a JB Jr. SJBJ-1N in the middle and a Hot Rails for Strat SHR-1B model at the bridge. This combination helps to produce all of the signature tones that have helped to make both Dave Murray and Iron Maiden some of the pre-eminent driving forces in metal music for nearly 40 years.
Joining the pickup selection of the FENDER Dave Murray Stratocaster RW 2-Tone Sunburst is a Floyd Rose Original double locking2-point tremolo, a set of deluxe cast/sealed tuners, white plastic control knobs and a four-ply white pearloid pickguard.
Fender Dave Murray Strat HHH MN 2TS 2-Tone SunburstAfter playing guitars for 25 years, thid was the first Strat I really liked and bought. I usually play Ibanez, EVH & Mayones, to give you a feel of my preferences.
This strat has got a neck which I really like. Sound-wise he is great and delivers more tone than your usual strat. The tremolo is of drop-down-only type, which is geeat for staying in tune without any setup time, but I prefer free-floating. Perhaps I will modify this in the future. For now, I leave it as-is.
The only down-side was that the setup was not that great. Had to spent a few minutes to get a setup which was more practical, but I still need to go through a proper setup to get the modt out of this guitar. This could have been better, but can be fixed by yorself, cost no more than a but of time.
All in all : Great guitar, especally for this price. (And if your are doubting, just buy it, since you can return the guitar if it doesn't live up to your expectations!).
