MFB Bass-522
Bass Drum Module
MFB Bass-522 is a drum module based on the MFB-522 for the Modular Synthesizer. It offers a crisp bass drum with adjustable end and pitch range. The module has been extended by a pitch envelope and adjustable noise component.
Triggering of the Bass-522
MFB Bass-522 can be triggered with different signals. This does not necessarily have to be an analog or digital trigger signal: Drumpads, piezo pickups or dynamic microphones can also be used. The Sens control can be used to adjust the input sensitivity accordingly. With dynamic triggers not only the volume but also attack, tone length and pitch are influenced.
The functions of the MFB Bass-522 at a glance
The module has the following functions, whereby the first four are additionally controllable via CV inputs:
With TONE you can mute the crack that is responsible for a more percussive sound of the BD
DECAY controls the cooldown, which can be up to 2 seconds
TUNE tunes the bass drum, from about 35 to 70 Hz
PITCH sets the duration and intensity of the pitch change
NOISE can be used to add noise
The module also has the newly developed M-Bus connection. A MIDI keyboard can easily trigger the module and change knobs via an appropriate MIDI-CV interface or sequencer. The Bass-522 module supports the following signals: Trigger MIDI Note #35 or #36, switchable, with velocity. Controller values for Sound, Decay, Tune, Pitch, Noise and Noise Decay.
