The Star Quick Lock mounts from the the high end series "Star" are also used for the Starclassic line. They guarantee great resonance of the toms to maximize the tonal range. Furthermore, they simplify setup and tear down of the kit and provide security in every situation.
The shells of the Starclassic Maple series feature very thin plies to add more resonance to the shells. The special glue between the single plies provides optimal stability. The thin shells of just 5mm for the toms and 7mm offer soft response and the perfect, warm maple sound that is popular around the world. The shells are available in almost every size and configuration you can think of.
To live up to the quality of the shells, the Starclassic Maple now comes with the best Tama has to offer in terms of shell hardware and know how. The drums come with the proven Star-Cast mounting system which has become even lighter thanks to the use of aluminum. It offers great resonance, secure positioning and flexible adjustment options. For perfect tenability and sound, Tama equips the Starclassic Maple shell with high quality Die-Cast hoops and rubber padded tight washers. They do not only prevent direct contact to metal, they also prevent loosening of the tuning rods. The drums come with high quality Evans heads. Additional features are the rubber padded bassdrum claws and the single piece, cast bassdrum legs for comfortable adjustment and stability. Even the floor tom legs come with some cool features like the air hole in the feet to minimize floor contact and enhance the resonance.
Aside from 3 kinds of basic kits, Tama offers a huge range of finishes and shell sizes. You can also choose from two different shell hardwares: Black Nickel or Chrome. This allows you to create unique, individual drums.
