iLok 3 is a special USB device that contains your licences for iLok-protected software. The third generation can now store up to 1500 licences. The housing is now also more compact and stable than its predecessor.

Felt like an unnecessary purchase at the time cause my iLok 2 was still alive and kicking but this is way better, it's so small and solid. Worthwhile upgrade.
I don't particularly like licence keys mainly because they take up an extra usb slot, but understand the need for companies to protect against piracy. It works fine and is certainly an improvement on the first generation. It does seem a bit pricey for what it is though.
