The Gibson Les Paul Historic Select Heritage Cherry Sunburst Light Aged comes closer than any other electric guitar to the feel and sound of the legendary Holy Grails of the 1950s. The elaborate manufacturing process with Double Carvin and Wet Saning, as well as the careful choice of wood, results in an electric guitar that can hardly be distinguished from the legendary bursts in sound development and handling. In terms of sound, Gibson Custom Bucker in neck and bridge position promise authentic vintage humbucker sounds that are perfect for traditional blues and rock. Historically correct hardware equipment completes the Gibson Historic Select 1959 Les Paul.
The construction of the Gibson Les Paul 1959 Historic Select is based on carefully selected woods. The body is made in one piece from particularly light mahogany, while the top is joined in two parts from intensively flamed curly maple. The neck is also made in one piece of mahogany and has the historically correct Long Neck Tenon, the long neck foot. All wood joints are glued with Hot Hide Glue, which hardens as hard as glass and thus guarantees perfect resonance throughout the instrument. Last but not least, the elaborate double carving of neck and top promises the perfect, historically correct Les Paul form.
For the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Historic Select Heritage Cherry Sunburst Light Aged, the Gibson Custom Shop team selected two Gibson Custom Buckers. Authentic replicas of the legendary Applied For Humbucker (PAFs) from the golden era of the electric guitar, they deliver an authentic vintage humbucker sound on the amplifier that makes every sound played sing with a broad vocal mid-spectrum and transparent treble. The airy dynamic lies in the hand of the player, so that nothing stands in the way of expressive electric guitar playing between blues and rock. The pickups are classically controlled using a 3-way toggle switch and individual volume and tone controls.
Last but not least, the Gibson 1959 Les Paul Historic Select Heritage Cherry Sunburst Light Aged is equipped with historically correct hardware. On the body, the combination of Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece established by Ted McCarty is used, which guarantees a perfect adjustment of intonation and string position. The headstock also features a nylon saddle and Kluson Deluxe machine heads.
