When I started looking for good acoustic amps, I have to say I was biased by bigger amp manufacturers such as Fender. I started looking at the Acoustasonic line and listening to reviews in Youtube, but then I came across a video in which someone reviewed this wonder, the Fishman Loudbox Artist and I could notice immediately (even from a Youtube video recording) that the sound of this one beat any other I had previously seen in cleanliness, warmth of tone and depth. It read a review somewhere that said "your guitar, just louder" and that's exactly it; plus it comes with a very good selection of effects that you can easily apply to your sound. I finally chose this one over the Fishman Loudbox Mini because: 1. I wanted the extra power in case I did a bigger gig 2. The output possibilities this model offers is much more flexible than the Mini (which has only a mixed channels D.I. output). The Artis has individual DI outs for each channel, a master Mix DI output, ¼-inch jacks for effect send and return on each channel, ¼- and 1⁄8-inch jacks for the auxiliary input, and a TRS jack that supports a dual footswitch for muting the amp and activating Effect B.
In sum, in my opinion this is a great amp for the acoustic guitar player/singer, it provides plenty of power for medium to large venues, and it can even do the trick if you are playing with a band with electric guitars and drums. I do not think this is overpriced because you get a really good amp that is versatile and that can give you a lot of hours of fun. I recommend it if you are looking for a top notch acoustic amp/combo.
