And if a multiclamp fits a standard 1,5" rack tube, it usually fits everything else that can be found around a drum- or percussion set up.
So for me that kind of versatility is the most terrific thing about this clamp.
Before I continue, take note that it will only take cymbal rods (boom arms) up to 12 mm.
That's a bummer, because many serious cymbal rods are 12,7 mm.
I have many clamps in all shapes an sizes, so I know what to look for.
I never had this particular one, but I immediately saw it's potential.
One side clamps on any kind of drum related drum stand, all the way to 1,5" drum rack tubes.
The other side is meant for rods, till approx. 12mm diameter.
It's got hinged latches of course, and it will also take very thin rods.
The threads feel ok like any other good clamp.
I always grease them up a tiny bit to keep them healthier.
It helps.
I still have clamps that had a rough life for many years,.
I maybe had to replace a spring here and a screw there, but everything still turns like butter because I put a tiny nip of grease on them.
It's got a long "neck" to add reach to get the rod around obstacles.
This is handy if your drumset is already cluttered with all kinds of other stuff, to get the rod up and around cymbals and toms from below at decent angles.
Both clamp ends rotate 360 degrees, which still doesn't guarantee a 100% flexibility, but close enough to it.
Enough to make this a very useful clamp at a decent price
It almost delivers what it promises...but again: only for rods up to 12 mm.
That's why it misses 1 star.
