Paiste

Paiste is one of the leading manufacturers of cymbals. The philosophy of the family-owned company Paiste, founded in 1945, is to continuously develop new sounds that meet the creative demands and expectations of drummers and percussionists. In doing so, Paiste relies on close cooperation with professional drummers such as Stewart Copeland (The Police) or Joey Jordison (Slipknot). The proverbial Swiss precision is reflected in every Paiste cymbal, gong or percussion instrument, which Paiste manufacture in Switzerland and Germany. Read more...

About Paiste

The Paiste company was founded in 1945 by Michail M. Paiste in Germany. His father Michail Toomas Paiste had been successfully manufacturing cymbals and gongs since the 1920s and 1930s, but historical events forced him to close down the business. In 1957, he founded a manufactory in Switzerland, where Paiste's headquarters are still located today. At this time, Michael's sons, Robert and Toomas Paiste, joined the company, which later made the headquarters in Nottwil in the canton of Lucerne the centre of Paiste's international business. In 1981, with the founding of Paiste America, a branch office opens overseas, followed by others in Estonia and Spain in 1995.

Paiste currently offers 14 different cymbal series for drummers. In addition, there are various concert and marching cymbals, as well as instruments for the percussion sector. Some of the most popular series are the Paiste Alpha 2002, PST5 and Rude. Besides Steward Copeland and Joey Jordison, the best-known Paiste endorsers certainly include Danney Carey from Tool, Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden, Tico Torres from Bon Jovi, Larry Mullen from U2 or Dave Lombardo from Slayer.
