For the construction of the McCarty 594 Hollowbody II, PRS relies naturally on carefully selected woods which, in combination with the hollow-body construction and the 24.594" vintage-style scale length, guarantee a woody timbre in the sound. The generous resonance chambers of the mahogany body are closed by a top and back made of flamed maple with a particularly even flame. The glued mahogany neck also fits comfortably in the hand with its optimally proportioned "Pattern Vintage" profile, so that every lick feels like it comes naturally from the rosewood fingerboard with its coveted Bird inlays.
The electrical tone conversion of the McCarty 594 hollow-body II Charcoal is done by two PRS 58/15 LT Low Turns humbuckers. Due to a reduced number of windings of the coils, the pickups are characterized by an authentic vintage sound with moderate output and high warmth, which skillfully captures the woody timbre of the hollow-body construction and transports it to the amplifier. Via push/pull switches in the tone controls, the pickup can also be split, so that excellent single-coil sounds with lively dynamics and bell-like sound development belong to the repertoire of the PRS McCarty 594 hollow-body II.
