Celebrating the diamond anniversary of the 1960s Les Paul, which marks the end of the legendary "'Burst" era, the GibsonCustomShop presents the Gibson 60th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Standard VOS V2 Tomato Soup Burst. As an authentic replica of an electric guitar from the second third of its production year, the Gibson 60th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Standard VOS V2 features the slimmer Authentic '60 Slim C' neck profile, "Reflector Knobs" with silver inlays and Kluson "Single Line/Double Ring" tuners. Naturally, Gibson applies the classic construction featuring a one-piece mahogany body, flamed maple top and glued mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, while Gibson Custombuckers deliver the authentic vintage tone. The design of the Gibson 60th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Standard VOS V2 Tomato Soup Burst naturally follows the historical specifications. Accordingly, this electric guitar features a one-piecemahoganybody that carries a bookmatched flamed maple top and a glued mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. While the use of the long neck base and hard hide glue for all wood joints promises a lively sound with long-lasting sustain, the the slimmer "Authentic '60 Slim C" neck profile offers superb playability. In addition, the VOS nitrocellulose finish with vintage patina provides the look and feel of a perfectly played-in original.
Gibson Custom Buckers utilize Alnico III magnets and a hand-wired circuit with Paper-in-Oil caps and "Reflector Knobs" to deliver authentic vintage sounds with a genuine PAF character.

The Gibson Custom Shop has selected two GibsonCustomBucker pickups for the Gibson 60th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Standard VOS V2 Tomato Soup Burst. Equipped with Alnico III magnets, these humbuckers prove to be authentic replicas of the legendary PAF humbuckers of the "'Burst" era and deliver an absolutely genuine vintage sound. Vocal mids, powerful articulated basses and a silky treble spectrum together with the lively dynamics of the pickups create the perfect foundation for the classic sounds of blues and rock. In addition, the hand-wired 3-way circuit with historically correct oil-paper capacitors allows for precise adjustment of the timbre. The high-quality CTS potentiometers of these capacitors carry the classic "Reflector Knobs".

A historically accurate hardware selection completes the Gibson 60th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Standard VOS V2, and while the classic combination of an alloy stopbar and ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, conceived by Ted McCarty, guarantees optimal adjustment of intonation and string action, the strings are led over a nylon saddle at the headstock to the KlusonDeluxetuners, which feature "Single Band" lettering on the body and "Double Ring" wings in the first third of the production year.
